How to get to Yiwu China

Yiwu has many suppliers many of the “cheap Chinese” everday items come from here.

There are several ways to get to Yiwu. One of the most practical is to fly to Shanghai (a really great city to visit), then catch a train to Yiwu (about 3 hours).

If you are staying in Shanghai you can get the hotel or a travel agent to help you buy the train ticket. Usually there is an english speaking person on one of the counters at the train station if you want to do it yourself. The ticket costs under $10US. If they say you have a “no seat” ticket, it means you do not have a reserved seat and will have to look for one or stand up for part of the journey.

If you want the trip to be a little shorter, you can fly in to Hangzhou (which also has many manufacturers and a beautiful lake).

Bus is possible from Shanghai, but is best to consider only if you have a Chinese guide as some of them do not have a set route or schedule – so you could ed up anywhere!
